The Adventures of Lil Margie

 

This book is based off of the life and experience of Nakia's grandmother Emorgaie Watson or "Margie". Margie was raised in Milledgeville, Georgia.  She would often talk to her granddaughter Nakia or "Nicky" as she called her, about the wonderful and sometimes terrible times growing up in the segregated south as a child. She would always tell her to write these stories down so she can put them in a book one day.  Nakia realized that these stories helped shape her grandmother, who raised a generation of strong beautiful women- moms, aunts, nieces, cousins and more. Although it wasn't always pretty and times were not always easy, Nakia always remembered the stories her grandmother told her. Nakia felt it was her duty to honor her grandmother 

and never FORGET the impact these stories had on her!
